British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO)

Founded in 1994, BIFHSGO’s focus is on the family histories of people with origins in England, Ireland (north and south), Scotland,  Wales, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, whose families migrated to North America and settled in Canada.  Meetings with genealogy lectures are held on the second Saturday morning of each month, unless otherwise indicated, between September and June.  An Annual Family History Conference is held each September, and a Genealogy Course each spring.  BIFHSGO’s goals are to assist members in research, help organize collected data, and advise how to share family history through publishing and other means.  BIFHSGO also helps members use the Internet for research and sharing information.
